The earliest church of San Stefano was built in the 13th Century by Augustinian hermit monks. It was completely rebuilt in the 14th Century and then altered in the 15th Century; the last incarnation is basically what we see today. The exterior is a typical Venetian style; brick facade with Istrian stone decorations. This facade also has tall, narrow arched windows surrounded by a decorative frieze. The church entrance is on a little side street off the large square called Campo San Stefano, or Campo Morosini. It is seen off to the lower right. It's a busy square where bullfights were held until 1802—yes, there were bullfights in Venice.
